Laila Tarraf is the head of human resources at GI Partners, LLC. In this role she focuses internally on the firm’s investment professionals as well as externally supporting portfolio companies in the areas of talent management, performance, leadership, coaching and culture.
Prior to joining GI Partners, Ms. Tarraf served for nearly seven years each as the Chief People Officer at Peet's Coffee & Tea where she helped build the talent and organizational infrastructure of the company that enabled annualized double-digit growth that culminated in a private sale of the company at a premium, growth-company multiple.
Previously, she served as the Vice President of Human Resources at Walmart.com where she grew the organization from seven to nearly 250 employees in its first year and went on to build the talent management infrastructure necessary to scale the organization to over $1.5B and 600 employees in over a six year period. Previous to that she held several recruiting/human resources roles at Webvan, Electronic Arts and Netscape Europe.
Ms. Tarraf received her M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
